My First Backpacking Trip 23th April

Me, Dad, Mom and my Cousin Rosa went for a looooong holiday over the mountains into the jungle. The bustrip took ages.. like 9 hours. First the bus rode up the mountainside very high. Dad said we were at least 4815 meters higher than the sea. Then it went down again and when i woke up we had come to a town called Huánuco.

We spent there two days, and went to visit and old place named Kotosh. There I saw a mountain that looked like a fist, and turkeys and some goats.

After that we continued more down, to a place called Tingo Maria, in the jungle. My mom's cousin, aunt Marita came with us too. It was really hot there and I didn't have to wear much clothes in the daytime. And we had a big bubbly swimming pool inside our room which was really fun!

The next morning we drove to a big cave. It sounded really scary, with loud screams coming from inside! Dad said I shouldn't go in because there is a lot of poo. I saw some parrots flying outside and dad saw some bats and oilbirds and very big cockroaches inside. Then it started raining a lot. We went back to eat and then to some other places. I fell asleep but when I woke up, I was in the middle of a jungle next to a big beautiful waterfall, and it wasn't raining anymore! My Dad and Mom went to swim in the water. Then we took some pictures. The jungle is really beautiful!
